Opie modeled for me while I created my hipp'o'lantern masterpiece. He isn't sure googly eyes were the way to go, but you can never go wrong with googly eyes!
And this "Opie" is my cousin. Apart from physical resemblance, we're not much alike--hence his name (try pronouncing "Hippo" backwards). He's sweet (like me!), but not too bright, and he doesn't like to travel or write about what he's been up to.
Hippo has taken an interest in genealogy. We went searching for his siblings at all the hippo adoption agencies in the area.
We found Opie through an online adoption site. He looks a little different than Hippo, so we think he's a distant cousin. We're still in search of Hippo's closer relatives.

Wait a minute, now I'm confused. So there are TWO versions of Hippo A. Potamus? Who is Opie?
Opie is Sheriff Andy Taylor's son. He's from Mayberry, North Carolina.

Do you think there is any royalty in Hippo's lineage? He does look a little like Good King Hipposlaus of Greater Hippopolakia.
ALL hippos are royalty! :) Or should be, anyway.
I couldn't agree with you more!
A nod to all ... Yes indeed !!!
