Tracking the elusive House Hippo was much harder than I thought. Probably because I kept eating all the chips and peanut butter and falling asleep.
But I finally got a picture of him!
I was having a snack and got thirsty, so I turned my back for just a minute to get some water, and guess who marched right up and stole one of my chips! Must have been the cheese.

Electric Hippo
Hippo wants to see this parade where a hippopotamus dons a coat of Christmas lights and leads the float. Scratch that – Hippo wants to BE the hippopotamus dressed in lights. It suits his glowing personality.

Welcome to Hippo's Hometown!
There are a lot of people visiting my hometown this week. Something about somebody famous making an important appearance....
Maybe someday I'll run for president, too! That job comes with a nice house and a big yard. I hear it even has a hidden swimming pool.
There is a lot to see and do in DC, so you might need a souvenir or two to remember your visit. I found this tiny little portrait of Mr. Lincoln when I went to see his memorial.
If you get tired, you can find a park or a bench where you can sit down, think, and maybe make a new friend.
And don't forget to take lots of pictures and have some fun!

Hippo Potty Mouth
Hippo loves bathtime. Floating in the water and swimming laps is great fun. He often lobbies for permission to have his hippopotamus friends over for a pool party, but I have to explain that our bathroom just isn't big enough for that.
Sally Cochrane found a creative solution – painting hippos on the walls of her bathroom. That looks like a wonderful place for a relaxing bath (as long as you don't mind the lack of privacy).

Hippos in famous places
The advantage of being a dwarf pygmy hippo is that it's easy to travel. Just burrow into a human's purse or backpack and next thing you know you'll being flying off to exotic locations like Florence, London, or Istanbul.
Hippo found this collection of photos of hippos in these famous places. Of course he submitted his own photo posed in front of The White House.
If you have a photo of your hippo in a famous place you should submit it too. If not, then get traveling!
