Mr. McNoceros

Hippo's new friend Mr. McNoceros shared a photo album of his world travels. Hippo thinks it's rather handsome to grow a horn upon one's snout, sort of likely a mustache but without the itchiness.

Mr. McNocerus has seen many famous sights including cathedrals, natural wonders, and a slightly crooked tower. But the coolest has to be the temples of mountain-dwelling space nerds.

When I grow up, I want to be a mountain-dwelling space nerd! They get to do cool things with telescopes and look at nifty pictures of space and all the stuff in it.

In the meantime, I think I'll dress up as a 'nocerous for Halloween this year! Pointy nose horns are very stylish and they don't interfere with eating sticky candy. It is never too early to think about the candy.

Even a little hippo in DC can look at the nifty things in space! In the summer, the National Capitol Astronomers have star parties out in Rock Creek Park, near the planetarium (which does free shows on the weekends) The next star party is on Rock Creek Park Day, September 27th.
