Hippopotomonstrosesquipedalianism

Little Hippo loves big words. His favorite big word is hippopotomonstrosesquipedalianism, which means "the love of big words".

Jessica Hippo

Hippo wants a girlfriend. He has a crush on a young hippo starlette named Jessica who lives in Mozambique. She was found as a newborn washed up on the banks of a river. She is now pampered by humans and plays with dog friends.

Hippo is also pampered by humans and has both a dog and a cat as friends, so they already have a lot in common. He's pretty sure she'll fall for him if he wears a sombrero.

Hippoblogamus

More about my favorite subject--ME!

I am a good Hippo--very cute, and modest, too.

I like to travel, as you probably noticed. For a young hippo of very tiny stature, I'm well travelled, and even have my own backpack! I'm very proud of my yellow backpack. It holds everything a hippo could need-like my hat, shades, and my teddy hippo. (oops! I didn't want to tell everyone I still sleep with my teddy hippo. How embarrassing!)

I'm always curious about everything. One might even say that I'm nosy. (...and I can't resist a good pun!) I can't wait until my next trip!

Philadelphia

For Labor Day, Hippo took a trip to Philadelphia. He was most excited to see the mummies at The Franklin Institute.

He was very excited. But he didn't push or shove to get inside. He thought it would be a good idea to try on an Egyptian hat to see how he would look as a Pharaoh.

He looks quite handsome. He also looks like he's thinking about food. You know what? He usually is.

Before going to see the King Tut exhibit, we played around in the science area. Hippo acted like a mad scientist. It's dangerous to put power into his little hooves.

We saw a show at the planetarium called Stars of the Pharaohs. Hippo learned that the Egyptians placed a hippopotamus at the center of their zodiac to hold the stars in place with his staff. That sounds about right.

While in Philadelphia, Hippo also went to see some old buildings and a big, broken bell. He came nose to nose with Benjamin Franklin, who he found to be an interesting fellow.

Back at the hotel we discovered what a hippo does after being exposed to history and archaeology all day.

A is for Hippo

Hippo enjoys reading. Especially books with pictures. And especially books with pictures of hippos.

Lately he's been studying Hippo's ABCs by Eric Fama Cochrane. He is a good hippo, but elemenohpee gives him some wild ideas.

About my mugshot--It was just a misunderstanding! I did NOT piddle in my assistant's purse--it was condensation from the water bottle. I didn't actually do any time. I would have fired her, but then I remembered that I can't get around by myself. We eventually agreed never to speak of the "incident" again.
